Hi,
This post is a bit different and if it upsets people then I am sorry. (But will only blog like this if it is very important and it will not be a regular thing).
While out in our village today I met a young mum, and she was asking me about using ebay to raise money to buy a hearing aid for her two year old girl. These aids cost around £1,000 each.
She knew I did eBay and that I was an education specialist, and asked for some advice, but she explained she could not pay me a lot as she did not have much. I told her I would help out at no cost.
I spent some time today chatting with her and showing her eBay and other online places where she could raise money. I also explained how we could write to local firms and VIP’s and ask them to donate items for the auction.
When I got home I thought what else could I do, and I thought I Know I will do a blog post and put a PayPal donation button in it.
If you feel able to help in any way by donating any item either big or small, I shall add it to the fund - and I have also told her she needs to open a special bank account where she puts this money and it needs to have several people sign it. Until this has been set up the money shall stay in my own PayPal Account, in case things do not work out, and I shall return the funds to people if this is the case. Sorry to put a negative side to this, but you do need to be so careful these days. action Once again if you feel you can help here is the donation button.
Hi,
Over the next few weeks, having taken advice from Janelle Elms of OSI RockStars I am changing parts of this blog.
For example I have bought a new domain name and will be using this for my Education Specialist Program, and this will be a static site with just a few articles there, but the base will be the classes I teach. this will be on LinfordDirectTraining . com (This is NOT live yet).
And I have bought another name for my Trading Assistant business. This is on Trading-Assistant-In-Staffordshire . com again as yet this is not live.
Then I shall use this blog, to post hints and tips, product sources etc, and as the two new ones will be more static I shall not have to spend loads of time on them, just updating when I add new classes etc.

The elements of becoming a Top eBay seller is to be honest no different from any online or offline business – excellent customer service, strong marketing and advertising strategies, and good financial management. To achieve all these and to become a top eBay seller, follow the tips below.
Build an Excellent Feedback Rating: Do this both ways – first, as a buyer then as a seller. It is recommended that you make several purchases yourself before you start selling online. Build a great buyer’s feedback rating by sending payment quickly and promptly . As soon as you have created a good buyer’s reputation, you can now become a seller.
For top eBay sellers, ensuring 100% customer satisfaction is their daily target. You can achieve this in many ways but some basic tips include answering questions about the product completely and patiently, communicating with the buyer clearly about payment and shipping, and offering a quick and convenient payment option such as PayPal. And answering emails as soon as possible.
Draw customers with good quality pictures: Image is everything when it comes to marketing and especially so when you are selling a product online. Remember, the photo you use will be the point of reference of potential customers so it is very important that you take very good pictures. It does not mean though that top eBay sellers are professional photographers. Certainly, you do not need to be one. Just make sure your camera has decent resolution to produce clear images.
Do not use a flash when you take pictures because it throws unflattering light on your items. Shoot in an open area instead. Use a tripod to avoid blurry photos. Resize your photos and make sure they do not exceed 300 pixels so they will load quickly. Lastly, remember to use an accurate image of your item to avoid customer complaints and negative feedback that will ruin your credibility.
Work on Your Text: Aside from using high-quality images, top eBay sellers know the importance of the headlines and item descriptions. Be creative with the headline to attract the attention of buyers but make sure to use searchable keywords, which simply means you need to include in your headline the words that buyers use when searching for the item that you are selling. In addition, do not forget your adjectives. Use descriptive words like incredible, delightful, and unique but make sure they suit your items.
The item description is where your potential buyer should find out why they should buy your product so make sure to write about its features and benefits. Again, accuracy and honesty is very important. Do not make false claims because this will only ruin your business. And where there is a problem with your product such as a mark or chip tell them about it and point it out.
Understand the costs of your business: Top eBay sellers keep in mind all the costs associated with their listings, which would include the listing fee, selling fee, payment processing fees, and shipping fees. Tracking expenses is crucial to any business and to make the task easier, you can invest in accounting software to help you stay in top of your business finances.

Hi there ,
You know every time I take a look at the news updates from eBay they have come up with another special listing offer. When and where we can we should always try and make sure we make use of this offers. But a small word of advice if it does not fit your business model please do not just use it because eBay tell you to.
Anyway, the offer this time I found about runs from August 12th right through to September 23rd so you have got a few weeks to try this out.
How this offer works is normally when you list an item on eBay you have to pay more for listing two items of the same kind over one item.
For example let’s say you sell widgets and you have 200 hundred in stock, Let’s say you’re selling microphones. You have 100 in stock. You put your listing up, and tell people you have one available to purchase, now you will pay X for that listing.
But if you put up that listing and say there are 200 (or more) widgets available for sale, then you’ll be charged for each one to list.
But - as of now, until late September, you won’t be charged any extra for listing two or more of
the same item through a single listing But please note this is buy Buy-It-Now).
So if you sell the SAME widget over and over again then now could be the time to test listing multiple items through the same listing.
If for example you sell one widget try listing two widgets through the same listing.
It won’t cost you any extra at the current time.

Have you wanted to shop online and prefer to use a card instead of cash in shops, but can’t get a credit card, then we may have the product for you.
The PayPal Top Up Card is a reloadable card that gives you the complete control to be able to pay as you go when shopping online, in shops or over the internet or even when on holiday. It is not a debit, credit or store card, but works the same way. It can be used abroad and is safer than carrying cash.
You buy the PayPal Top Up Card card for £4.95 which you can pay for via your PayPal account, if you have one, or if you don’t have a PayPal account, you will need to pay this from your first top up (please note that if you aren’t topping up from a PayPal account, a small fee is charged for topping up). Once you’ve topped up your card, you are free to use it practically anywhere you like, which means almost anywhere you see the Visa symbol. And when you are running low on funds, you can simply top it up again and carry on. It is really as simple as that.
You can be budgeting your shopping, controlling your cash flow or saving your holiday money, using the PayPal Top Up Card helps because this means that you are limited to only spending the money you have put on your card.
The Top Up Card is also great for traveling. It is easier than arranging foreign currencies, and with a PayPal account you can top up while you are away. Please note that there are certain fees payable where transactions are undertaken abroad
