UK Trade Show 12

Well it is Tuesday so that means it is Trade Show Day. For the UK Trade Show I have chosen MODA. MODA is one of the UK’s Trade Shows for the fashion industry.

MODA will be held at the NEC in Birmingham, on the 9 – 11th August 2009.

At the show you will find over 1, 000 Men’s, Women’s, FootWear and Accessories Collections, there will be lively Catwalk shows each day.

Today I have renamed this blog My Online Empires as this name covers all the areas of earning money from and on the internet.

So a word of advice to my readers out there, when you buy a name or are thinking about the name for your business, please think long term and not just short term.

Get Started on eBay 001

I guess that when you have been doing something for a few years you think everyone knows how to do something. For example you are into football then you think everyone knows the rules, the same for golf or cricket.

Well just this last week I was talking with people about eBay and how good it is to make some extra money, and each time they said yes thats ok but how do we “Get started on eBay“. For a few minutes I thought what …….. it is so easy to get started on eBay. Then I took a step back and looked at it from someone who had no internet knowledge and I thought yeah what do you do to get started on eBay.

So I thought lets do a few blog posts and teach the new people and also remind those who have been around eBay a few years the simple steps to get started on ebay.

• Start at the eBay site for your country. For example .com for the USA .co.uk for the Uk and so on.
• When the home page opens up look to the top left hand side and click on sign in.

• Next you will see a screen like below and just click on register.

• Next fill in your user information like name and address. Also you will be asked for an email address please use one that you check on a regular basis as this is the one that you will use to receive information from eBay.

• Also during this form filling you will be asked to choose a user name, please think long and hard about this, as this is the name people will use and see when buying items off you. For example if you choose an name like claires dresses and later you start to sell cars you might have a hard time, so think generic.
• Lastly do not forget to tick the box to show you have read all the legal forms etc.

Well done you have taken the first step on how to Get started on eBay, this simple process allows you to start to buy on the site.

I guess many of you reading this have not really thought about Christmas this year – 2008, well I am sorry to say if you are in the retail business either as a Brick and Morter business or as an Online Trader you need to be thinking ahead, and January means Christmas 2009 and it happens in Harrogate.

This year the Christmas 2009 Trade fair in Harrogate runs from Saturday January 10th right through to Monday January 12th 2009.

As Usual The Harrogate Christmas and Gift Fair runs over several venues around the town. Please do not let this put you off visiting this great buying and networking event as they are all very close to each other.

Venue one for the Harrogate Christmas and Gift Fair is the St George Hotel and Harrogate International Centre. These venues are for the Christmas and Gift buyers, and the venue is open from 11th – 14th January between 9am -6pm (except the last day when they close at 4pm)

Venue Two is the Clearence section and is always a very popular part of the Harrogate Christmas and Gift Fair. The Venue is at The Cairn Hotel and is open between 9am 6pm each day 10th – 12th January.

The Final venue of the Harrogate Christmas and Gift fair is The Old Swan Hotel and here you will find all the cards and gift wrap you will ever need for Christmas 2009.
This venue is open between January 10th – 12th. And the times are 9am – 6pm.
